July 4th Weekend Retreat Blessings

It was a blessing weekend for me and my wife to attend the annual conference @ arabic church.

The weekend was an amazing mix of good worship, prayers and speakers. Many of them challenged us in knowing God for who he is and not only for what he can offer. Other challenged us in seeking God in every thing and all things.

The Fact that many of us has double lives; the Sunday Christan's life and the rest of the week life opened my eyes and put me to shame on how we fail presenting God to every person we encounter.

So, if you attended the conference, please take a moment reflecting on the things that touched your heart and if you like to comment and share it with us that would be a blessing.

Churchy Flowers at the door steps

Last week, I noticed those new flower plantation around the outside of the church. It was a sign of the spring is in town. But this year was different. I noticed what Mary Baheg did. She not only taking care of the flowers, but she also inserted those verses in each one of them.

I didn't know how to think of them, or how the idea came to her but I liked it.
I didn't want to ask her about them, since I wanted to think about them for a bit and see what influence of the thoughts might have on me.
One of the things I did think of was how small things matter if you did it was a humble heart and with purpose in mind.

I think that the verses were put there with a purpose in mind. It also made the flowers even more meaningful and prettier. God is good in every way and I am sure he does appreciate all these small touches.

I also thank God for making me notice those small things, it makes me feel his presence is every where around us.

Shabab Fund Raising

We are planning our year shabab conference, and we needed to raise money to cover all the costs. So the shabab came together to make Koshari (that is an Egyptian meal for you who don't know) to feed the whole church and ask for donations. It was so much fun to see how we all work together for one goal and the blessing of being one team. God blessed our time and blessed us with great donations.

It tought me so much about our church and how people are really feel passioned about every ministry and whenever we ask for help they want to help. I also realized the importance of having working committed youth in the church and see how a church without any youth is considered dying church. Thanks every one getting together to make it happens.
